Increased productivity through Investment in Paper Over Board - Saturday 1st March 2008

Harveys have always been market innovators in Paper Over Board products since our initial investment a few year back. This process uses a fast-drying glue process to mount laminated prints onto board which can then be made into folders, binders, boxes and slip cases.

To allow us to move with our customer’s needs, Harveys identified that we needed to create more manufacturing capacity on our lining machines as a mark of our sales successes across the UK.

In late 2007, Harveys took the decision to upgrade our automatic lining machines with new top-of-the-range robotic spotters – these computer controlled feed units allow fast and accurate lining and provide our customers with market-leading product quality. Now fully integrated, these process efficiencies give additional benefits to our customers – economies of scale and speed mean a more competitive value offering.

Harveys also made the decision to change the actual glue being used in our lining process. Harveys now only use a vegetable starch based gluing process which has all the tack qualities of the old glues, but with a more environmentally friendly solution for our products.
